Marine Mechanic / Technician
Busy, family owned and operated, marine repair shop located in Madeira Park is seeking a motivated individual to join our team. We provide year-round, full service repairs and maintenance for locals and visitors on the Sunshine Coast. Our storage buildings and yard provide dry-storage for 60 ~ vessels as well as winter and spring preparation services.
The position of Marine Technician includes duties such as routine maintenance and repairs, along with winterizing and seasonal maintenance. The candidate will perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing diagnostics and repairs on pleasure and commercial vessels. The right candidate will have the ability to work independently and efficiently, be a problem solver, maintain a positive attitude and be a productive member of our team. Attention to detail and ability to adapt to seasonal changes of workload and duties is a must. The job can be physically demanding so the right candidate should have reasonable strength and endurance for performing the duties described above, as well as the ability to carry heavy loads and to stand, sit and bend for prolonged periods.
Experience & Skills:
3-5 years of equivalent marine yacht system service
Mercury, Volvo or Honda certification training an asset
Must be able to speak and understand English
Valid driver’s license and vehicle an asset
Practical experience with tools and equipment used in marine maintenance

Customer Service / Administrative Assistant
Madeira Marina is a family run, marine repair shop and retail store located in Madeira Park and we are looking for an individual to join our team. The right candidate is a motivated individual with a minimum of 1-year experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling. Experience and basic knowledge of the marine industry is a plus, but not a requirement.
Duties include:
Point of sales transactions for retail store
Telephone and email customer service
Support to service and parts departments
Retail store upkeep – stocking, ordering, cleaning etc.
Data entry and word processing
Shipping and receiving
Skills:
Dynamic and outgoing personality
Great communication skills (verbal & written)
Dedicated to excellent customer service
Sales experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word and Excel)
Boating/fishing/tackle experience an asset
Demonstrates self initiative and can work well unsupervised
